| October 2001
& October 2000- Resident Artist at Guadalupe Alternative Program
in West St. Paul, worked closely with Renato Lombardi, the Art Director,
on Days of the Dead Celebration. During 2001, the ofrendas evolved
into memorials to those died during 9/11 WTC attack and those who
were victims of other wars - Vietnam, Bosnia, Cambodia, Iraq...
The prior year's work focused on visualizing ways in which ancestors
are honored in Southeast Asian cultures. October 2002 - assisted
Renato once again with Days of the Dead. Materials from previous
year (latterns & transparent photos of 9/11 WTC victims) were
re-used during procession. Note: picture of Renato hanging photos
of fire fighters killed during 9/11. |
